It's 4 a.m. and pitch black. Peter clips a headlamp above the hitch ball, and his trailer maneuvers itself, aligns, and lowers onto the ball. With a tap on the iPad screen, he releases the parking brake and pulls away. In less than five minutes, alone in the dead of night, he's back on the road.
Just over a year ago, that trip wasn't possible. Breaking camp used to mean retracting stabilizers, removing leveling blocks, and lining up the hitch by hand, often with a copilot. But today, Peter is joined by more than 100 other owners who enjoy that same ease, and together they've traveled more than a quarter of a million miles.
When we set out to build the Pebble Flow, we had one goal: the best RV on the road, smarter, and easier to use. But here's the part we didn't predict. Our data shows that, on average, owners take their Flow out about four times as often as a typical RV owner. And more than half of them had never owned an RV before. That last number is the one we keep coming back to. People who never called themselves "RV people" now spend their weekends, and often their workweeks, on the road with a Flow. Some even live out of theirs full-time.
Meet a few of the owners
We didn't do this alone. The people who took a chance early didn't just buy a trailer. They bought into the future of Pebble and, intentionally or not, helped us build it. With each trip, every charge session, and each piece of feedback, we've learned what makes the Pebble Flow better. Over the last year, to get a better sense of who our owners are, we've sat down with a number of them to hear their stories, and captured a few on video.
Peter's Mobile Office
At the start of this post, you read about Peter rolling out before dawn. Now more than six months into Pebble ownership, his Flow has become an integral part of his life. Peter crosses the country to work out of his Flow about two weeks a month, splitting his time between home in Florida and stunning campsites in Arizona. Fueled by the memory of his parents, he stopped waiting for "someday" to get outside. Now, with his Flow, he makes it a priority.
Stuart & Denise explore with ease
Retired outside Reno, they bought their Flow for easier access to the national parks they love. The first time out, they were set up in about two minutes — then spent the next couple of hours watching the Airstreams around them still trying to level. That's when they knew they'd made the right choice.
Missy & David the “Tesla Hippies”
Before the Flow, David and Missy figured an RV would be "a lot of work." Then, in 2022, they spent 30 days living out of a Tesla Model X — and turned into full-timers before they ever owned a trailer. Now the self-described Tesla Hippies work, cook, and camp out of their Flow, from a night on the Malibu coast to the three months on the road they're planning next.
Built. Delivered. And it keeps getting better.
Here's what's different about a Pebble Flow: unlike other RVs, it's better today than the day it shipped.
We've all watched as software has changed the automotive industry, turning a car from something that simply ages into something that improves for years to come. We built the Flow the same way. Every update starts with an owner — someone pushing the limits while living off-grid with the Flow, or sharing concerns about safety when parked. It goes to our engineers and ships back out over the air, with no dealership visit. Two just landed:
Boondocking Mode — for the owners who vanish off-grid for days. Set a timer that powers down select lights, appliances, and outlets to stretch your battery life. Watch real-time draw and solar generation in the new Energy Meter. And HVAC Eco Mode widens your comfort range, so climate control only runs when the cabin drifts outside it.
Surround View Cameras — live views of your Flow's surroundings on the included iPad. Useful on a tight merge, or keeping an eye on camp. Starting today, Founders Edition owners can see all four sides of their Flow — Front, Rear, Left, and Right — or all four at once. Magic Pack owners get the rear view now, with more views unlocking later this year.
Earlier this year we added Scout AI, an assistant built just for Flow owners — answering questions and walking you through fixes in real time. Owners went to bed one night and woke up to a Flow that had gotten smarter overnight.
"The Pebble Flow that our newest customers receive is dramatically improved from the earliest units," said Stefan Solyom, Pebble's CTO, "and with more OTA updates and deeper AI integration, it will only get better from here."
The Origin
"The Pebble Flow started as a bold idea to reimagine a legacy industry. Three years later, more than 100 customers are experiencing a new way to RV,” said Bingrui Yang, founder and CEO of Pebble. “We've moved beyond that first build. This milestone reflects the work of our team and the early customers who believed in something new. Every mile our owners travel helps us improve the Flow, and every future customer benefits from what we learn.’
